Scarlett Johansson, a veteran of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), has firmly stated that her character, Black Widow, is "dead" and she does not seem eager to reprise the role anytime soon. In a recent interview with InStyle, Johansson discussed her future, highlighting her upcoming role in the big-budget film "Jurassic World Rebirth" set to release this summer. While MCU fans continue to speculate about potential returns for Natasha Romanoff, Johansson's stance remains clear.

"Natasha is dead. She is dead. *She's dead.* Okay?" Johansson emphasized, addressing fans' hopes for her character's return. She underscored the importance of letting Black Widow have her heroic moment, having sacrificed herself in 2019's "Avengers: Endgame" to save Jeremy Renner's character, Hawkeye. Despite the definitive nature of her character's demise, fans have continued to theorize about her potential comeback.

"They just don't want to believe it," Johansson remarked, acknowledging the fans' reluctance to accept Black Widow's fate. "They’re like, ‘But she could come back!’ Look, I think the balance of the entire universe is held in her hand. We’re going to *have* to let it go. She saved the world. Let her have her hero moment."

The MCU has a history of reviving deceased characters, fueling speculation about future projects such as "Avengers: Doomsday" and "Avengers: Secret Wars." These upcoming event movies are not only anticipated as the next chapters in the MCU saga but are also rumored to feature numerous cameos, including potentially deceased characters.

While Robert Downey Jr. is set to take on the role of Doctor Doom, marking his first new live-action role in over a decade, rumors have swirled about other familiar faces making a return. The Wrap reported in December about Chris Evans potentially returning as Captain America, though he later denied these claims. Additionally, Hayley Atwell's Agent Carter, who has died twice in MCU films, is rumored to appear in the upcoming "Doomsday" project.

As fans eagerly await "Avengers: Doomsday" on May 1, 2026, and "Avengers: Secret Wars" on May 7, 2027, the speculation about who might return, living or dead, continues to grow. For those keen to stay updated on the MCU's future, a list of every upcoming movie and show Marvel has in the works is available, and fans can also tune into the latest episode of Marvel's recent project, Daredevil: Born Again, premiering its third episode tonight.
