Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic is kicking off the new year with festivities, including the New Year's 2025 event, followed by Fidough Fetch and the Sprigatito Community Day. January also brings the Eggs-pedition Access, a month-long paid event ($4.99) offering numerous in-game benefits. Gift-giving gets a boost too, with increased storage and daily limits.

What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The New Year's event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes, there's still plenty of festive fun.

Expect increased wild spawns of special Pokémon: Jigglypuff (with ribbon), Hoothoot (New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (party hat), all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.

Raids offer Shiny chances for Pikachu (snowflake beanie) in Tier One raids, and Raticate and Wobbuffet (party hats) in Tier Three raids. Field Research and PokéStop Showcases will also feature event-themed encounters.
