Alan Wake 2 Tops 2 million Sales and Finally Starts Turning a Profit

Alan Wake 2's global sales have soared past two million copies. This impressive figure builds upon the 1.3 million units sold between October 2023 and March 2024, a period that already established it as Remedy's fastest-selling game. Remedy's recent financial report attributes this milestone, along with the release of the Lake House expansion and the Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition, to the game entering a royalty-generating phase, having recouped its development and marketing costs.

Looking ahead, Remedy revealed that Control 2, a collaborative project with Annapurna, is nearing completion of its production readiness stage and will enter full production by the end of February 2025. Simultaneously, the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake continues to make steady progress in its full production phase.

Remedy's multiplayer Control spin-off, FBC: Firebreak, remains in full production following a successful closed technical test in December. This test focused on matchmaking and back-end services. While a release date is yet to be announced, FBC: Firebreak, a self-published title, is slated for release later in 2025.

CEO Tero Virtala expressed confidence in Remedy's position, stating they are well-positioned to begin their strategic period and are confident in achieving their set targets.

IGN's review of Alan Wake 2 awarded the game a 9/10, praising it as a superb survival horror sequel that significantly surpasses its predecessor.
