Amazon's acquisition of James Bond creative control has ignited a firestorm of speculation regarding the next 007. Jeff Bezos' X/Twitter poll revealed a clear frontrunner amidst a field of contenders including Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson: Henry Cavill.

Cavill's surge in popularity stems from widespread fan support, fueled by his established presence in blockbuster franchises like Superman and The Witcher. This enthusiasm is further amplified by Amazon's involvement, given Cavill's commitment to their Warhammer 40,000 project. The possibility of a dual role is certainly intriguing.

Interestingly, Cavill previously auditioned for Casino Royale (2006), a fact readily available online. Director Martin Campbell lauded his performance as "tremendous," but he was ultimately deemed too young at the time.
