Assassin's Creed Shadows Estimated to Take 80 Hours for Full Completion

Creative Director Jonathan Dumont has shed light on the expected playtime for Assassin's Creed Shadows, revealing that completing the core narrative will take approximately 30 to 40 hours. If you're someone who loves diving into every nook and cranny, the optional content can extend your playtime by another 30 to 40 hours, culminating in a total experience of around 80 hours. This detailed insight was shared during an interview with journalist Genki, providing fans with a clearer picture of the time commitment required for this eagerly anticipated title.

Previously, Dumont had likened Shadows to earlier entries in the series such as Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. However, given the significant variations in length among these games, these comparisons were somewhat vague. Acknowledging the challenges in measuring open-world experiences, Dumont clarified his stance, emphasizing that Shadows aligns more closely with the scope of Origins. According to How Long To Beat, Origins requires around 30 hours for the main campaign and can stretch to over 80 hours for those aiming for complete mastery.

For fans worried about overly lengthy gameplay, Shadows seems to offer a more balanced experience. In comparison, Valhalla has faced criticism for its hefty 60-hour main story and a potential total of 150 hours when including all content. If Dumont's estimates hold true, Shadows promises a more manageable yet richly rewarding journey.

Mark your calendars—Assassin's Creed Shadows is set to launch on March 20th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
