Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios unveil "Avatar: Seven Havens," a thrilling new animated series expanding the beloved Avatar universe. Created to commemorate the franchise's 20th anniversary by original creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, this 26-episode, 2D animated series introduces a fresh Avatar storyline.
The narrative centers on a young Earthbender, the Avatar succeeding Korra, in a world ravaged by a catastrophic event. This new Avatar is not viewed as a savior, but rather as a harbinger of destruction, hunted by both human and spirit foes. Forced to unravel their mysterious origins alongside a long-lost twin, they must protect the Seven Havens before civilization crumbles.
DiMartino and Konietzko shared their excitement, stating, "The creation of the original series never anticipated this continued world expansion decades later. This new Avatarverse installment is brimming with fantasy, mystery, and a captivating array of new characters."
"Avatar: Seven Havens" will be structured into two 13-episode seasons (Book 1 and Book 2). Executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi join DiMartino and Konietzko in this collaborative effort. Casting details remain undisclosed.
This marks Avatar Studios' first major television series, complementing their upcoming full-length animated film featuring adult Aang, slated for theatrical release on January 30, 2026. The 20th anniversary celebrations also include a range of new books, comics, concerts, toys, and a Roblox game.
