All Avowed Companions You Can Recruit

Embark on a perilous journey through the Living Lands in Avowed, accompanied by four unique companions, each boasting distinct personalities and upgradeable abilities. This guide details each recruitable companion.

Kai

Encountered early, Kai is a formidable ex-mercenary with a surprisingly tender side. A tank-like combatant, he inflicts substantial damage and boasts fire abilities useful for removing obstacles and uncovering hidden treasures. He joins your party upon reaching Dawnshore's port near Paradis.

Upgradable Abilities:

• Fire and Ire (Active): A powerful blunderbuss shot, stunning and taunting a single enemy.
• Unbending Defense (Active): Regenerates health and boosts damage reduction.
• Leap of Daring (Active): A powerful leap, stunning and taunting nearby enemies.
• Second Win (Passive): Revives with 50% health upon death.

Marius

Marius, found in Dawnshore, shares history with Kai. A skilled hunter and tracker, his abilities enhance exploration and combat. His "Hunter Sense" reveals loot and crafting materials.

Upgradable Abilities:

• Binding Roots (Active): Roots an enemy in place.
• Heart Seeker (Active): A piercing shot that ignores obstacles.
• Shadow Step (Active): Vanishes and reappears to attack an enemy (up to 3 times).
• Wounding Shots (Passive): Attacks inflict bleeding.

Giatta

Recruited later in the Emerald Stair region at Fior, Giatta is an animancer whose magic provides support in combat. Her abilities are crucial for solving spiritual mysteries in the main quest.

Upgradable Abilities:

• Purification (Active): Heals allies.
• Barrier (Active): Provides allies with temporary health.
• Acceleration (Active): Increases ally movement and attack speed.
• Reconstruction (Passive): Attacks partially heal allies.

Yatzli

The final companion, Yatzli, joins in the Shatterscarp region of Thirdborn (though she can be encountered earlier). A damage-focused magic user, her spells excel at both single-target and area-of-effect damage, and obstacle removal.

Upgradable Abilities:

• Essence Explosion (Active): Explosive arcane damage.
• Minoletta’s Missile Battery (Active): A volley of homing arcane missiles.
• Arduos Delay of Motion (Active): Slows enemies.
