Bandai Namco Entertainment, the publisher behind Elden Ring, has partnered with Rebel Wolves to publish their debut action RPG, Dawnwalker.
Rebel Wolves, a Polish studio founded by key figures from The Witcher 3, has secured a global publishing deal with Bandai Namco Entertainment. This agreement designates Bandai Namco as the worldwide publisher for Dawnwalker, the studio's inaugural title in the Dawnwalker action RPG series, slated for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox.
Dawnwalker is a narrative-driven AAA action RPG set in a dark fantasy medieval Europe, designed for mature audiences. Further details are promised in the coming months. Established in 2022, the Warsaw-based studio aims to elevate the RPG genre through compelling storytelling.
"Rebel Wolves is a unique blend of experience and fresh energy," commented Rebel Wolves' chief publishing officer, Tomasz Tinc, in the press release. "Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, with its proven commitment to RPGs and new IPs, is the perfect partner. We share a vision, and their track record speaks for itself. We're excited to collaborate and bring the first chapter of the Dawnwalker saga to players worldwide."
Bandai Namco views Dawnwalker as a significant addition to its portfolio. Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, VP of business development, stated, "This is a crucial step in our Western market strategy. By combining our strengths, we'll deliver this debut title to a global audience."
Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a CD Projekt Red veteran and lead quest designer on The Witcher 3, leads Rebel Wolves as creative director. Co-founder and narrative director Jakub Szamalek, a former CD Projekt Red writer, confirmed that Dawnwalker is a new IP. The game's scope is anticipated to be comparable to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, featuring a more non-linear narrative.
Tomaszkiewicz previously highlighted the game's design: "We aim for an experience offering diverse choices and replayability. Collaborating with such talented individuals to craft this experience is a privilege, and I can't wait to share the team's work."
