Treyarch Unveils "The Tomb," a New Map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, in 115 Day Celebration
Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a flurry of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the highly anticipated reveal of a new map: The Tomb. This annual January 15th event brings a comprehensive blog detailing upcoming zombie-themed surprises.
The highlight is The Tomb, a desert-themed map launching with Season 2 on January 28th. This follows Season 1's Citadelle des Morts, adding another thrilling location to the Zombies universe within weeks.

The narrative follows Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya as they investigate an excavation site, guided by Gabriel Krafft's final words, to secure the Sentinel Artifact. The Tomb, situated on ancient burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., promises a deeper mystery than initially anticipated. While details are scarce, the map's connection to British archaeologist Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe is hinted at.
Gameplay-wise, The Tomb offers a similar experience to Liberty Falls—compact environments designed for high replayability and packed with Easter eggs. Treyarch also teases a reimagined Wonder Weapon drawing inspiration from past titles and the return of a classic SMG.
Season 2 also includes significant quality-of-life updates, addressing community requests. These include expanded tracking for Calling Card and Camo challenges (up to 10 each in Zombies and Multiplayer), a co-op pause feature for Zombies, and the ability to rejoin Zombies matches with your loadout after disconnection. Separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer will also be implemented.
To commemorate 115 Day, players enjoy double GobbleGum earn rates and double XP (player, weapon, and battle pass) until 10 AM PT on January 21st. Treyarch also shared encouraging statistics for the story-driven Directed Mode, revealing over 480 million hours played and a more than doubled Main Quest completion rate (from 3.38% to 8.23%).
The team emphasized Directed Mode's success in expanding the Zombies community by guiding new players through the storyline.
The upcoming release of The Tomb will be particularly notable given Activision's recent acknowledgment of voice actor recasting for some Zombies characters due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
