Bandai Namco cited an inability to meet player expectations as the reason for the closure, stating that maintaining a satisfactory service is no longer feasible. The global launch with Amazon Games is consequently scrapped. The company expressed regret over the cancellation.

Until the January 18, 2025 shutdown, Bandai Namco pledges continued support with updates and new content. However, Rose Orb purchases and refunds are discontinued. As compensation, players will receive 5,000 Rose Orbs monthly (starting September 2024) and 250 daily. Furthermore, Season 9 and subsequent season passes are free, and the final update (Chapter 7) is slated for December 18, 2024.

A rocky start marked Blue Protocol's Japanese launch in June 2023. Despite initial high concurrent player counts (over 200,000), server issues and subsequent player decline led to growing dissatisfaction. The game's underperformance, previously noted in Bandai Namco's March 31, 2024 financial report, ultimately sealed its fate. The inability to meet financial projections contributed significantly to the decision to cease operations.
