Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl Actress Michelle Trachtenberg Dies Aged 39

Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl, has passed away at the age of 39. This was reported by The Post.

Law enforcement sources indicate no suspicion of foul play surrounding Trachtenberg's death. ABC News reported that her mother discovered her deceased in her New York City apartment near Columbus Circle on Wednesday. According to ABC News, Trachtenberg had recently undergone a liver transplant and may have experienced subsequent complications.

ABC News further stated that the death is believed to be from natural causes, with an autopsy pending to officially determine the cause and manner of death.

Trachtenberg's career began at age nine with a role in the 1990s Nickelodeon series, The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Her feature film debut followed in 1996's Harriet the Spy.

She achieved notable recognition playing Dawn Summers, the younger sister of Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar), in the iconic television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2000-2003). Other prominent roles included Jenny in the 2004 comedy EuroTrip and Casey Carlyle in the 2005 film Ice Princess.

More recently, Trachtenberg portrayed the memorable Georgina Sparks in the popular teen drama Gossip Girl (2007-2012), reprising the role in the HBO Max sequel series.
