Xu Wu's agility is its defining trait. Its dark coloration further complicates matters, making it difficult to discern its orientation. The creature's multiple arms and tendency to vanish briefly into walls, reappearing from the ceiling, add to the challenge. This behavior is primarily confined to its nest, necessitating extra caution in that area.
Xu Wu exhibits a significant weakness to Ice. Employ Ice ammo with ranged weapons, or equip gear that inflicts Ice elemental damage when using melee weapons. Consider the Frost Jewel decoration for enhanced Ice Attack capabilities. Frost Pods provide an additional method for inflicting minor Ice damage.
Xu Wu utilizes a grab attack, rendering your weapons temporarily unusable. A swift response is crucial; you have approximately two seconds to escape. The slinger, particularly with Frost Pods, provides an effective means of breaking free.
Xu Wu's mouth is its most vulnerable point, though its location beneath its body limits opportunities. Capitalize on moments when it dives, unleashing powerful attacks for maximum damage. Breaking its mouth yields Xu Wu's fang.
Alternatively, the head offers a reliable target, boasting a 4-star weakness to blunt and cut damage, and a 3-star weakness to ammo damage.
Xu Wu has a 3-star weakness to Poison. Bows, with their Poison Coating, are particularly effective for inflicting this status ailment. While other status effects can be considered, Sleep is largely ineffective.

Once Xu Wu's health drops to 20 percent, utilize a Pitfall Trap or Shock Trap. Bait, such as meat, or even your own position, can lure the monster. Quickly fire a tranquilizer to secure the capture; failure to act swiftly will result in its escape.
Mastering these strategies will significantly improve your chances of successfully hunting and capturing Xu Wu. Remember to monitor your stamina, given the monster's high agility.
