Firaxis Games Unveils Post-Launch Roadmap for Civilization VII
Firaxis Games showcased the post-launch roadmap for Sid Meier's Civilization VII during a recent livestream. The roadmap details significant updates planned for 2025, including paid DLC and free content updates.
Several DLC packs are planned, featuring new Leaders, Civilizations, and Natural Wonders. The "Crossroads of the World Collection," a two-part release, is the headline paid DLC. Part one (early March) includes Leader Ada Lovelace, four Natural Wonders, and the Carthage and Great Britain civilizations. Part two (late March) adds Leader Simon Bolivar and the Bulgaria and Nepal civilizations. Free content, including new Natural Wonder events and Wonders themselves (Battle event and Bermuda Triangle in early March; Marvelous Mountains event and Mount Everest in late March), will also launch alongside the paid DLC.
Further paid DLC, the "Right Rule Collection," is scheduled for summer 2025, introducing two new leaders, four civilizations, and four New World Wonders. Additional free content and updates are planned throughout the spring and summer. Firaxis promises continued post-launch support from October 2025 onwards. Specific release dates for all announced content remain unannounced.

A developer diary blog post expands on these plans, promising additions such as multiplayer team support, larger multiplayer lobbies, increased map variety, and modding tools. These features will be released as soon as possible, according to the developers. The diary also highlights upcoming bug fixes, balance adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements via regular updates.
The livestream also provided a detailed look at Civilization VII's multiplayer systems, showcasing diverse victory strategies. A Q&A session addressed community questions.
