Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide
Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to defeat this formidable foe.
Locating the Lifer
The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. Access is initially limited; a convenient entrance lies southwest of the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Climb the walls or utilize the Flight function to reach it.
The Lifer's Board Game
Inside, you'll find the Lifer beside a board game with six pieces. Control the black pieces to connect three in a row before the Lifer (white pieces) does. Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens maze walls and gates in that direction. You can exit and resume the game at any point. Winning the game isn't necessary to fight the Lifer, but it's crucial for buff removal. Engaging the Lifer before buff removal is strongly discouraged.
Removing the Lifer's Buffs
The Lifer possesses seven buffs, four removable and three permanent. View these buffs via the glowing yellow module behind the Lifer.
Removable Buffs (using the Stake of Imbalance):
Permanent Buffs:
Obtaining the Stakes of Imbalance
Use the Sensor near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to four outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates. Each room contains a Stake of Imbalance (marked by a white glow) and may require combat or environmental interaction (breaking rocks). Place each Stake in the module near its corresponding winged statue to remove a buff. The purple line will turn yellow upon successful buff removal.
Defeating the Lifer

After removing all four removable buffs, engage the Lifer. Winning the board game or selecting "Fight it out!" initiates combat. The debuffed Lifer is significantly weaker. Its attacks pose minimal threat.
Rewards for defeating the Lifer include Premium and Basic/Standard/Advanced Supply Chests (varying rewards based on number of victories). You can re-enable buffs for a greater challenge, though no achievements are tied to this.
Achievements
For the board game, focus on preventing the Lifer from creating lines. It will eventually make a mistake.
