Long-time fans of the iconic Dragon Quest series are in for a treat, albeit one that's currently exclusive to Japan. Dragon Quest X, which has often been overshadowed by other entries in the series due to its MMORPG-like nature, is now coming to mobile devices. Specifically, Japanese fans can look forward to playing Dragon Quest X Offline, a version designed for single-player enjoyment, on both iOS and Android starting tomorrow. This offline iteration, which was previously released for consoles and PC in 2022, is available for a discounted premium purchase.
For those unfamiliar, Dragon Quest X stands out with its real-time combat and other MMORPG elements, a departure from the traditional turn-based battles seen in other games of the franchise. The original Dragon Quest X hit the market back in 2012, and while it was a Japan-only release, the offline version brings new hope to fans eager to experience this unique entry on mobile platforms.
Sadly, for fans outside of Japan, a global release of Dragon Quest X Offline on mobile doesn't seem imminent. While the possibility isn't entirely off the table, there's currently little to no news about an international launch. This is a letdown for dedicated Dragon Quest enthusiasts like myself, who have invested countless hours into games like Sentinels of the Starry Sky and are eager to dive into another version of the series on mobile.
