Navigating the colorful world of Dragon Quest 3 Remake can be a thrilling adventure, but securing the Yellow Orb might pose a unique challenge. This orb is essential for your journey, yet finding it requires a bit of cunning and patience. The key lies in a location known as Merchantburg, though the game doesn't label it as such directly. Instead, you'll see it marked as ???, a placeholder name that will change based on the merchant you choose to establish the town. For example, naming your merchant Christopher will result in the town being called Christopherburg. The trick is to help this village grow and thrive, which is the only way to unlock the Yellow Orb.

Where to Find Merchantburg ??? In Dragon Quest 3 Remake

After securing the Black Pepper for the King of Portoga and obtaining your ship, you're ready to embark on the quest to find Merchantburg. With quest markers enabled, you'll notice the Merchantburg marker in the northeast corner of your map. To reach it, sail west from the coast until you reach the easternmost edge of the eastern continent.

When Should I Visit Merchantburg?

Although you have the freedom to visit and collect the orbs in any order, there's a compelling reason to prioritize Merchantburg early on. Establishing this town takes time, and the sooner you start, the quicker you'll be able to claim the Yellow Orb. By setting up Merchantburg as soon as you get your ship, you can continue your adventures, collecting other orbs while the town grows, and return when it's ready.

How to Get the Yellow Orb in Dragon Quest 3 Remake

### How to Establish Merchantburg in Dragon Quest 3 Remake:

Before heading to Merchantburg (???), stop by PALS in Aliahan to hire a new Merchant. It's wise to minimize combat on your journey to the town to keep your new party member safe.

Upon arriving at Merchantburg, enter the only building available. Inside, you'll encounter an old man eager to establish a new town but in need of a Merchant. Here, you'll offer your newly hired Merchant, who will then leave your party to set up shop, officially naming the town after them.

Returning to Merchantburg:

After setting up Merchantburg, proceed with your adventure, perhaps tackling the Purple Orb at Orochi's Lair and the Blue Orb at Gaia's Navel. As you progress, you'll receive notifications to return to Merchantburg.

The town will undergo five growth stages, each prompting you to visit and check on your Merchant's progress. The town will expand with each visit, culminating in the construction of a large club. On your fourth visit, you might notice some tension as your Merchant's popularity wanes, signaling the final stages before the Yellow Orb becomes obtainable.

How to Get the Yellow Orb:

For your fifth and final visit, ensure you arrive at night. You'll find the Merchant missing from their home, as the town has revolted, imprisoning them in a jail cell located in the house just south of their residence.

Enter the jail and speak to the Merchant, who will explain the situation and eventually reveal the location of the Yellow Orb. After the conversation, return to the Merchant's home. Look behind the sofa for a quest marker; interact with the spot to uncover the Yellow Orb's hiding place.

For many players, the Yellow Orb will be among the last to be collected. Other orbs to seek out include the Red Orb at the Pirates' Den, the Green Orb in Theddon, and the Silver Orb in the Maw of the Necrogond/Necrogond Shrine.
