Escape from Tarkov's 0.16.0.0 update is here, bringing a massive overhaul to the game! Battlestate Games has delivered a substantial changelog packed with new features and bug fixes, accompanied by a new trailer.

Highlights of Escape from Tarkov 0.16.0.0 Update

The update introduces the "Khorovod" event, featuring unique tasks and rewards, and a special game mode where players must light and protect a Christmas tree across six locations.

A major addition is the "Prestige" system, similar to Call of Duty's prestige mechanics. Reaching level 55, completing specific quests, and accumulating sufficient resources allows players to reset their character, retaining some gear and earning rewards unaffected by wipes. These rewards include achievements, cosmetics, and additional tasks. While only two prestige levels are initially available, eight more are planned.

Further significant changes include:

• Unity 2022 Engine: The game has transitioned to the Unity 2022 engine.
• Frostbite Status Effect: Exposure to cold now reduces vision and stamina. Alcohol, warmth, and shelters offer countermeasures.
