While the Like a Dragon series is renowned for its humor, especially Majima's comedic antics, director Masayoshi Yokoyama reveals a "more serious" side to the character in this iteration, particularly at the story's outset.

Producer Ryosuke Horii emphasizes the core "manly drama," focusing on Majima's determined pursuit of his goals and the bonds he forges along the way. He clarifies that while the game will feature its share of outlandish moments, the narrative centers on a passionate protagonist. "The goofing off isn't the main point – there's a manly drama at the heart of it. Of course, there are some crazy detours, but overall, it's a straightforward tale about a passionate man."

Horii highlights Majima's unique qualities, distinguishing him from series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu. The team aimed for a balance between the pirate setting, Majima's personality, and the overall Like a Dragon feel, acknowledging the challenge in achieving this blend. The result promises a thrilling mix of realism and over-the-top action.

Majima's Maji Festival: A Japanese Celebration

To celebrate the game's launch, RGG Studio is hosting Majima's Maji Festival across six Japanese cities. The tour, which began in Sapporo on December 1st, 2024, concludes with events in Nagoya (January 18th) and Tokyo (January 25th).
