Football Manager 2025 Axed on All Platforms

  • After several delays, Football Manager 2025 has been officially canceled
  • The development team pointed to technical quality issues as the reason behind this decision
  • Their focus will now shift entirely to the next installment in the series

Fans of the acclaimed sports simulation game Football Manager face disappointing news, as the 2025 edition of this long-standing franchise has been suddenly canceled across all platforms, including its planned mobile version.

You might remember that Sports Interactive had already postponed the release. However, in a surprising turn of events, the studio has now confirmed the immediate cancellation of Football Manager 2025. According to their statement, the team struggled to meet the required technical standards, but they reassured fans that development resources are being redirected toward the next game in the series.

This cancellation is particularly disheartening for several reasons, most notably the earlier announcement that Football Manager 25 would launch on Netflix Games for mobile. That move was expected to attract a new wave of players to the franchise, but its future now remains uncertain.

A Step Too Far

Announcements like this naturally stir frustration among the fan base, especially given the last-minute timing—the most recent release date was set for March this year. Compounding the disappointment is the confirmation that FM24 will not receive updates to help fans wait.

Still, it’s worth noting the integrity behind refusing to launch a subpar product, even if the situation could have been managed more smoothly. Fans can only hope that when Football Manager 26 is officially confirmed, the series will make its awaited debut on Netflix Games.
