It's 2025, and Sony PlayStation has finally crafted its own wireless fight stick for PS5 and PC.
Edwin Foo, VP of Product Development at Sony Interactive Entertainment, said the stick—internally codenamed Project Defiant—will give players "greater flexibility to enjoy their favorite fighting games."
Sony guarantees ultra-low latency over wireless connections on PS5 or PC, along with the option to use a wired connection. This is crucial for fighting game enthusiasts who demand pinpoint precision and instant response for their combos.
The stick features an ergonomic design, a custom-built high-quality digital stick, and toolless interchangeable restrictor gates, letting players switch between square, circle, or octagon layouts—all of which can be stored in the controller’s built-in compartment when not in use. It also includes a convenient sling carry case.
What we don’t yet know is the price or release date: Sony has only confirmed a 2026 window.Sony’s fight stick arrives at a perfect moment, as it’s developing Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls—a new 4v4 Marvel fighting game from Arc System Works, the studio behind Guilty Gear. That game is also set for 2026, suggesting both the stick and game may launch around the same time.
