This undertaking began on December 16, 2024. His initial plan involved various FromSoftware bosses, but time constraints led him to focus solely on Messmer.

Messmer, the notoriously difficult second antagonist from Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, presents a significant hurdle. Players report needing 30 to over 150 attempts to defeat him, even with optimal equipment. chickensandwich420's commitment is truly remarkable.

A June Deadline: A Contingency Plan

However, chickensandwich420 has set a self-imposed deadline. If Nightreign doesn't release by June, he'll shift his focus to other games. This ambitious goal translates to over 160 consecutive days of battling Messmer. At the time of writing, he's reached day 23.

Elden Ring: Nightreign, announced at The Game Awards 2024, is a standalone three-player co-op adventure set within the Elden Ring universe.
