Genshin Impact: How To Collect The Burning Firestones (The Flowing Primal Flame Quest)

After assisting Bona in purifying the Abyssal Corruption from the Chu'ulel Light Core in Genshin Impact, your next task is to help her locate the Primal of Flame. Once found, you'll need to present two Pyrophosphorites – acquired during the Palace of the Vision Serpent Quest – to the Altar of Primal of Flame.

This offering opens a path to Tonatiuh, a floating island above Ochkanatlan’s Cradle of Fleeting Dreams. Reaching Tonatiuh completes the To the Sky-Road Quest and begins The Other Side of the Sky Quest, requiring you to gather four Burning Firestones to obtain the Jade of Return.

Gathering the Four Burning Firestones in Genshin Impact

Burning Firestone Location 1

The journey begins on Tonatiuh. After the cutscene with Bona concludes, the Little One will retrieve the first Burning Firestone. Follow it across the bridge (activating the lift mechanism as needed), interact with the small Saurian, speak with Bona, and then wait for the next cutscene.

Burning Firestone Location 2

The second Firestone is located on the northeastern island. To reach it:

1. Rotate the right and left floating island mechanisms.
2. Cross the extended bridge to the east.
3. Raise the lift.
4. Follow the Little One to the Firestone. Collect a Common Chest along the way.
5. Activate the mechanism to the right of the Firestone, climb the resulting platforms, defeat the enemy, and collect an Exquisite Chest.
6. Use the mechanism behind the chest to open the gate.
7. Descend to the Saurian, unlock the door, and tell the Little One, "Let's return to the altar!"
8. Return to the Altar of Primal of Flame.

Burning Firestone Location 3

To obtain the third Burning Firestone:

1. Rotate the right and northern floating island mechanisms.
2. Cross the bridge to the lower level of the northern island and follow the Little One.
3. Observe a Secret Source Sentinel carrying the Firestone to the southwestern island.
4. Proceed to the northwestern edge, ride a Qucusaurus, and fly towards the Pyroculus.
5. Activate the tower mechanism, transform into a Qucusaurus again, fly to the unlocked door, and use the elevator to return to the upper level.
6. Interact with the Saurian, follow it, activate the lift, and return to the Altar of Primal of Flame.

Burning Firestone Location 4

The final Firestone is on the upper level of the northwestern island. The steps are:

1. Cross the northwestern bridge, prompting Bona to adjust its angle.
2. Glide to the upper level of the northern island.
3. Lower the lift and follow the Little One.
4. Instruct the Little One to return to the altar.
5. Defeat the enemies, tell the Saurian to return to the altar, collect a Precious Chest, and finally, return to the Altar of Primal of Flame.

Once all four Firestones are collected and offered, the Flowing Primal Flame Quest concludes, transforming the Jade of Return into a Golden Entreaty. The Dragon of the City of Flowing Ash will then appear, leading you to the Nursery of Nightmares island to finish The Other Side of the Sky Quest and receive 50 Primogems.
