Google Play Store's Potential Game Changer: Auto-Launching Downloaded Apps
Ever downloaded an app and promptly forgotten about it? While I haven't, Google Play Store might have the perfect fix. A new feature in development could automatically launch apps upon installation.
Android Authority reports Google Play is developing a feature to streamline app installation. This would automatically open newly downloaded apps, eliminating the need to hunt for icons or confirm downloads. The app will open immediately upon completion.
Currently, this is based on an APK teardown of Play Store version 41.4.19. No official announcement or release date exists. If released, it will be called "App Auto Open" and will be entirely optional, allowing users to enable or disable auto-launching as desired.
Upon download completion, a notification banner will appear for approximately 5 seconds. Your phone might also ring or vibrate, ensuring you won't miss it.
