Despite being somewhat overshadowed by other titles, Halo Infinite continues to captivate its audience with regular content updates. The development team has recently unveiled an exciting new competitive game mode named S&D Extraction, which promises to offer players a fresh and strategically rich experience.
S&D Extraction takes inspiration from Valve's iconic Counter-Strike but adds its own unique Halo twists. In this mode, two teams of four players each go head-to-head: one team assumes the role of attackers, tasked with planting a device at a designated point, while the other team defends it. After each round, the teams switch roles, keeping the gameplay dynamic. The first team to secure six round victories emerges as the winner.
A key feature of S&D Extraction is its robust economic system. At the beginning of each round, players can purchase equipment using in-game currency earned through completing objectives. The cost of equipment fluctuates based on performance, adding a layer of strategy. All purchased gear vanishes at the end of each round, encouraging players to adapt their strategies continually. The pricing of items reflects their effectiveness and power potential within a round, with more potent items commanding higher prices. Players can expect to find more affordable options in the early rounds, escalating to pricier items mid-match, and potentially even more expensive gear towards the end if they manage their earnings wisely. Moreover, players have the option to spend currency for a respawn after being eliminated, adding another strategic dimension to the game.
Set to launch in 2025, S&D Extraction is poised to deliver a dynamic and engaging competitive experience for Halo Infinite fans, enhancing the franchise's appeal and keeping the community engaged with fresh content.
