Insomniac Games almost gave us Resistance 4. While a pitch was made and the concept was strong, according to outgoing president Ted Price, the timing and market opportunity weren't right. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price revealed this unmade game as a personal favorite, expressing his team's passion for the series' unique alternate history and the potential for further exploration of the Chimera's origins and storyline.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters developed by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation 3, depicts an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Following the completion of the trilogy, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man series and new entries in the Ratchet & Clank franchise.
Price's recent retirement announcement after over three decades at Insomniac Games also highlighted the leadership transition to Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, and Marvel's Wolverine is next on the horizon.
