There Will Be "Sort Of" A Sex Feature

During an "Ask Me (almost) Anything" session on inZOI’s official Discord, three team leads, including Assistant Director Joel Lee, tackled fan questions about the game's realism and explicit content. When it comes to sex, Lee explained, "Our answer is: sort of. There is a feature in the game where you'll know what's happening—the male Zoi and female Zoi are together, likely in bed, with the intention of creating babies. But how visually apparent is that? That's where your imagination comes into play. What you see isn't exactly what's happening; you have to assume it's going on. Is that clear? It's there, sort of, but maybe not as explicit as some might expect."

This statement suggests that while sex will be part of the game, the animations and depiction will be toned down to appeal to a broader audience. Compared to the more whimsical approach of The Sims, inZOI aims for a more realistic feel, which could influence how these features are presented.

Blurring Effects Don’t Work Well With inZOI

Another topic that came up was the curious case of Zois showering with their towels on. The developers explained that pixelated blurring effects, which work well in cartoony games like The Sims, clash with inZOI's more realistic art style. Attempting to use these effects made the scenes more suggestive rather than simply modest. Additionally, a bug during testing allowed players to see the Zoi's reflection in the mirror without any visual effects, resulting in unintended nudity. The developers have since worked to address this issue.

Making inZOI Available to All

Despite the focus on explicit content, inZOI has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB, akin to The Sims 4. This rating ensures the game remains accessible to a wide audience while maintaining a safe-for-work environment. Lee emphasized the team's goal to create a game that appeals to various age groups, saying, "We wanted to provide a game that was widely available to as many age groups as possible."

Looking ahead, inZOI has scheduled a live stream showcase on March 19, 2025, at 01:00 UTC on their official YouTube and Twitch channels. This event will cover early access pricing, DLC details, and the game's developmental roadmap, offering fans more insights and answers to their questions.
