Initial plans for a Marvel Rivals Season 1 mid-season rank reset on February 21, 2025, sparked considerable player backlash. The planned reset coincided with the introduction of two new heroes, The Thing and Human Torch, potentially disrupting the game's meta.

However, NetEase Games responded to player feedback and reversed course. A blog post confirmed that no rank reset will occur at the mid-season point. Players will retain their existing ranks and scores. To earn new rewards, including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor, players simply need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the season's end.

This decision demonstrates NetEase's responsiveness to community concerns and provides players more time to compete at their current rank.
