Capcom has unveiled an exciting new feature in *Monster Hunter Wilds* that lets players tweak the appearances of their hunters and Palico companions. The first customization is on the house, but for any further changes, you'll need to grab some Character Edit Vouchers. These vouchers come in packs of three for just $6, or you can snag a combo deal for both your hunter and Palico for $10. Without these vouchers, your customization options are limited to hairstyles, eyebrow color, makeup, and clothing. Unfortunately, you won't be able to touch those core facial features without them.

This monetization twist wasn't mentioned during the game's early previews, and Capcom only spilled the beans last week through their social media channels. Despite stirring up some controversy around microtransactions and performance hiccups, *Monster Hunter Wilds* smashed records with over 1.3 million players diving in simultaneously on Steam at launch.
Capcom has yet to respond to the wave of feedback from the community about this new system. Fans are voicing their frustrations, pointing out that this paid customization model starkly contrasts with earlier games in the series, where such changes were either free or earned through in-game efforts. Many feel this move chips away at what used to be a cherished aspect of the franchise.
