How to get a Mount in Rune Slayer

Complete quests, craft items, explore dungeons, and even cast a line for some fishing fun. But no true MMORPG is complete without a trusty mount, and Rune Slayer delivers. While acquiring a mount isn't overly complicated, the game doesn't explicitly guide you through the process. Fear not, this guide will show you the way.

Recommended Steps Before Mounting Your Pet

Before you picture yourself speeding across the Rune Slayer landscape, ensure you meet these prerequisites:

• Reach Level 20: This shouldn't take more than a few hours of dedicated questing, job completion, and mob slaying. Having friends to team up with can significantly speed up this process.
• Tame a Pet: A quest will guide you through pet taming, but here's the gist:
  • Find a tamable animal (deer, wolf, spider, etc.).
  • Attack it once.
  • Hold a food item the animal enjoys (apples for deer, raw deer meat for wolves).
  • Watch for a heart above their head; a fully grown heart means success, a black heart means you'll need to try again with a different animal.

Once you've reached level 20 and tamed a pet, you're ready for the next step.

Completing the Mount Quest

At level 20, visit Jimmy the Stable Master in Wayshire. He'll present you with "Jimmy's Delivery" quest—a simple package delivery to Ashenshire. Head north through Wayshire's northern entrance, following the path through Greatwood Forest (avoid straying too far from the path; the forest mobs can be challenging). Continue north until you reach Ashenshire, identifiable by its unique treetop houses.

Find the rope leading upwards and climb. The first NPC you encounter will be Madonna the Stable Master. There won't be a quest marker; simply interact with her and select "I have a package for you." After delivering the package, backtrack to Wayshire.

Speak with Jimmy the Stable Master (an exclamation mark will indicate a quest update). He'll reward you with a Saddle. The saddle won't appear in your inventory; it's automatically equipped.

Mounting Your Pet

Summon your pet (usually by pressing "T"), approach it, and select "Mount" (typically "E"). Enjoy your new high-speed travel! This method works for all mountable pets.
