Bandai Namco's popular fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially closing its doors. This isn't entirely unexpected for many players, mirroring the fate of other Naruto gacha games like Naruto Blazing, which ultimately succumbed to similar challenges.
Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage Shutdown Date:
Launched in 2017, the game will conclude its seven-year run on December 9th, 2024. Players can continue enjoying the game until then.
Several events are planned before the shutdown: the Village Leader World Championship (October 8th-18th), an All-Out Mission (October 18th-November 1st), and a final "Thanks For Everything" campaign (November 1st-December 1st). Players can still collect Ninja Cards, participate in summons, and utilize in-game items until the service ends. It's advisable to spend any remaining Gold Coins.
Reasons for the Shutdown:
While initially successful with its balanced village-building, trap-setting, and character-defense mechanics, the game's trajectory shifted. The introduction of Minato seemingly triggered a power creep, alienating players. Increased pay-to-win elements, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the decline of multiplayer features further contributed to the game's decline, making the eventual shutdown foreseeable. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those interested in a final playthrough.
