The inaugural title in the Naruto: Path of Ninja series, Naruto: Konoha Ninpōchō, was released in 2003 exclusively for the Bandai WonderSwan Color in Japan. This handheld console, launched in 1999, never saw an international release, much like the game itself. The storyline of Konoha Ninpōchō centers on the Land of Waves arc, supplemented by additional missions undertaken by Team 7.

Another Japan-only release, Naruto: Konoha Senki was developed by Tomy and released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance. The game covers the first 70 episodes of the series, including the Land of Waves and Chūnin Exams arcs. Initially, players can only control Team 7 and Kakashi, but additional characters become available after the first playthrough.

It debuted on the Nintendo DS in Japan and was later adapted for the Game Boy Advance for a worldwide audience. The game's narrative spans the early arcs of the anime, culminating in the Chūnin Exams arc.

Naruto RPG 2: Chidori vs. Rasengan, despite its name, serves as a sequel to Naruto: Path of the Ninja. Released in 2005 for the Nintendo DS, this Tomy-developed game was exclusive to Japan. It follows the Search for Tsunade arc and concludes with the Sasuke Recovery Mission, where Sasuke Uchiha departs from Konoha.

The final installment in the series, Naruto: Path of the Ninja 2, was developed by Tomy and released in Japan in 2006, with a global release following in 2008 for the Nintendo DS. Unlike its predecessors, this game features an original, non-canonical storyline. The main antagonists are the Three Ryūdōin Brothers, and the game introduces an original Anbu character as the player's ally.
These five games in the Naruto: Konoha Ninpōchō series offer fans a unique way to experience the world of Naruto, each with its own distinct narrative and gameplay elements.
