NBA 2K25 Releases First 2025 Update

NBA 2K25's January Update: Season 4 Prep and Gameplay Refinements

NBA 2K25 has released a significant update, paving the way for Season 4's January 10th launch. This patch (4.0) boasts a range of improvements across gameplay, visuals, and various game modes.

Key improvements include enhanced player likenesses (e.g., Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid), court corrections (including the Los Angeles Clippers court and Emirates NBA Cup court), and updated team uniforms. Several players and coaches have received updated in-game appearances, boosting visual fidelity.

Gameplay Enhancements (Patch 4.0):

This update prioritizes realism and player control. "Light Pressure" shot defense is now categorized into Weak, Moderate, and Strong, providing more nuanced shot feedback. Ball-rim interaction has been adjusted for more realistic rebounds. Defensive tweaks prevent unfair disruptions of skill dunks, and the Offensive 3 Seconds rule has been added to 1v1 modes. Performance and stability improvements have also been implemented in City and Pro-Am modes.

Mode-Specific Fixes:

  • MyCAREER: Progression adjustments ensure accurate badge unlocks and prevent skipped NBA Cup games.
  • MyTEAM: Visual updates to player cards and menus, along with fixes for saving Favorite Plays and challenge progression issues.
  • MyNBA/The W: Stability improvements address issues such as NBA Cup simulation problems and league contraction.

Patch 4.0 Notes (Highlights):

  • General: Fixes for online hangs, leaderboard sorting, and various visual inconsistencies across courts and uniforms. Season 4 launch preparations are complete.
  • Gameplay: Detailed shot feedback improvements, refined rebound physics, and adjustments to defensive interactions.
  • City/Pro-Am: Performance and stability enhancements, along with uniform selection improvements.
  • MyCAREER: Progression fixes and quest completion improvements.
  • MyTEAM: Visual updates, fixes for saved plays and challenge progression.
  • MyNBA/The W: Stability enhancements to address simulation and league management issues.

The update demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement and enhancing the overall NBA 2K25 experience. Season 4 awaits!
