Hotta Studios' upcoming 3D open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its first closed beta test. Unfortunately, this initial test will be exclusive to mainland China. While international players won't have direct access, they can still follow the game's progress as it approaches full release.

Gematsu recently highlighted new lore details, which shouldn't be too surprising to those familiar with the game's trailers showcasing the city of Eibon (see below). The new information expands on the game's slightly comedic narrative and the intriguing blend of the bizarre and the ordinary within the world of Hetherau.

Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the popular Tower of Fantasy), is entering a competitive 3D RPG market increasingly focused on urban settings. However, Neverness to Everness aims to stand out with unique features.

One standout feature is open-world driving. Players can enjoy high-speed city chases, customizing and purchasing a variety of vehicles. However, realistic damage models mean reckless driving has consequences.

Upon release, Neverness to Everness will face strong competition from titles like MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero and NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), both of which occupy similar niches in the mobile 3D open-world RPG genre.
