Obtaining Machine Arms early presents a challenge. While they drop from defeated small machines, the drop rate is significantly higher for stronger enemies.

Farming Machine Arms

The most efficient early-game farming location is the pit where you first fight Adam (post-Chapter 4). Access this area via the Desert: Housing Complex fast travel point and proceed deeper into the ruins. This pit continuously respawns small machines, providing a consistent, albeit low-yield, source of Machine Arms. This method is also effective for farming Titanium Alloy. While a Drop Rate Plug-In Chip can slightly improve your yield, the sheer volume of respawning enemies makes this the most practical early-game strategy.
