Team Ninja's substantial update for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (version 1.0.7.0) introduces highly anticipated features and numerous improvements. Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam & Microsoft Store), this patch fulfills a promise made in January to address community feedback.

Key additions include New Game Plus, allowing players to restart with previously acquired weapons and Ninpo (reset to level 1), though difficulty level cannot be immediately increased. A much-requested Photo Mode lets players capture in-game moments with adjustable camera positioning. Furthermore, players can now toggle the visibility of their projectile weapon via the Options > Game Settings menu.

Balance adjustments include HP reductions for enemies in Chapters 8 and 11, increased enemy counts in Chapters 13 and 14, and a damage boost for some of Ayane's attacks. The patch also addresses a variety of bugs, including high-performance PC stability issues, progression-blocking glitches in certain chapters, and crash problems during extended play sessions. A complete list of fixes is provided below.

Initially released as a surprise during January's Xbox Developer Direct, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, rebuilt with Unreal Engine 5, boasts enhanced visuals, new playable characters, and improved combat mechanics. IGN's 8/10 review praised its visual improvements over Sigma 2, while noting some balance considerations.
