Nintendo Alarm Delayed for Japan Despite Global Launch

Due to unexpectedly high demand and insufficient stock, Nintendo has postponed the general release of the Alarmo alarm clock in Japan. Initially slated for a February 2025 launch, the release has been delayed indefinitely. This announcement, made via the official Nintendo Japan website, cites current production and inventory challenges as the reason for the postponement. The impact on international availability, currently scheduled for March 2025, remains unclear.

To address the immediate demand, Nintendo Japan is implementing a pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers within Japan. This pre-order window is anticipated to open in mid-December 2024, with shipments beginning in early February 2025. Precise pre-order commencement dates will be announced shortly.

The Alarmo, a gaming-themed alarm clock featuring iconic melodies from franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure (with more to be added via updates), launched globally in October 2024. Its immediate popularity overwhelmed Nintendo, leading to the cessation of online orders and a lottery system for purchases. The physical stock in Japanese and New York Nintendo stores quickly sold out.

Further updates on pre-orders and the rescheduled general release date will be shared as they become available.
