Hideki Kamiya's Plea for Okami 2 and Viewtiful Joe 3: A Dream Deferred?

Okami 2 is Creator's Dream But Final Say Goes to Capcom

In a recent interview with Ikumi Nakamura, Hideki Kamiya, the celebrated game creator, once again expressed his fervent desire to develop sequels for Okami and Viewtiful Joe. This renewed plea reignited fan hopes for these long-awaited projects. The interview, featured on Unseen's YouTube channel, revealed Kamiya's deep-seated feelings of responsibility for the unfinished narratives of both games.

Kamiya highlighted his regret at Okami's abrupt ending, referencing a previous viral social media post hinting at a potential sequel. He stressed the need to complete the story, a sentiment echoed by Nakamura, who collaborated with Kamiya on Okami and shares his passion for the franchise. Kamiya even cited a Capcom survey where Okami ranked among the top games fans wanted to see a sequel for.

For Viewtiful Joe 3, Kamiya playfully acknowledged its smaller fanbase but insisted the story also remains incomplete. He humorously recounted submitting feedback to Capcom advocating for a sequel, only to see his suggestion excluded from the survey results.
