Goblinz Publishing, renowned for titles like Overboss and Oaken, has launched its latest Android game: Ozymandias. This 4X strategy game, reminiscent of the Civilization series, offers players a fast-paced experience focused on exploration, expansion, exploitation, and extermination. Read on to learn more.
Lightning-Fast Gameplay
Set in the Bronze Age, Ozymandias lets you explore diverse Mediterranean and European civilizations. While retaining the core strategic elements of a classic 4X game—city building, army raising, and conquest—it distinguishes itself through streamlined gameplay. Forget endless micromanagement; Ozymandias prioritizes speed and simplicity.
Unlike many 4X games that demand meticulous resource management, Ozymandias streamlines this aspect. The focus is on swift, strategic decision-making, not tedious detail. A single game concludes in approximately 90 minutes, similar to a board game session. Simultaneous turns further accelerate the pace. This simplification, however, might make the game feel too simplistic for some players.
The game features eight detailed historical maps and 52 unique empires, each with its own characteristics, encouraging varied playstyles. Multiple game modes are available: solo, multiplayer, and asynchronous. Intrigued? Watch the trailer below!
Will You Conquer Ozymandias?
Available now on Android via the Google Play Store for $2.79, Ozymandias was developed by The Secret Games Company using Unreal Engine 4. The PC version launched on Steam in March 2022.
