People Can Fly Teams Up with Sony for Project Delta

People Can Fly, known for Bulletstorm and co-developing Gears of War: E-Day, has inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to create a new title, codenamed Project Delta.

A recent People Can Fly report details the agreement, noting that Project Delta will be developed as a work-for-hire game, though specifics about the project remain undisclosed.

The studio is juggling multiple projects with codenames, including Project Gemini alongside Square Enix (which faced layoffs of 30 developers last year), Project Echo with Krafton, Project Red (also reportedly with Sony), and the VR-focused Project Bison, announced yesterday as the studio’s final virtual reality endeavor.

Last December, People Can Fly paused development on Project Victoria and scaled back Project Bifrost, both in progress. Earlier, in April, the studio canceled Project Dagger, an action-adventure game planned with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these changes, People Can Fly is actively working on eight known projects, including the forthcoming Gears of War: E-Day with The Coalition. While its release date remains unconfirmed, Project Gemini, in collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 launch.
