With the Nintendo Switch 2 on the horizon, speculation abounds regarding its launch day titles. While an official lineup remains elusive, we can confidently predict some likely candidates, based on Nintendo's history and existing projects.

While a day-one release of all these titles is wishful thinking, even a partial appearance would make for a stellar launch. Here are our hopeful predictions:
Mario Kart 9
A decade has passed since Mario Kart 8's Wii U release, and its continued success on the Switch makes a sequel highly probable. Rumors of development, featuring a "new twist," fuel anticipation. A launch-day release would be a significant system seller.
New 3D Super Mario
The Switch's relative lack of 3D Mario titles since Super Mario Odyssey (2017) makes a new entry highly anticipated. A new 3D platformer, brimming with inventive gameplay and collectibles, would be a fantastic launch title, potentially alongside Mario Kart 9.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
After years of anticipation and a developer change, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is finally nearing release. Its smooth gameplay showcase hints at a potential Switch 2 launch, ending the long wait for fans.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom Enhanced
Backward compatibility is expected, but enhanced versions of these critically acclaimed titles, leveraging the Switch 2's power for improved visuals and performance (perhaps 4K and higher frame rates), would be a welcome addition.
Ring Fit Adventure 2
Following the success of Ring Fit Adventure, a sequel utilizing the Switch 2's capabilities seems plausible. A launch-day release would showcase the console's unique features.
Resident Evil 4 Remake
While the original Switch lacked the power for this graphically demanding title, the Switch 2 could easily handle it. A launch-day release would highlight the console's capabilities and be a fitting tribute to the game's legacy.
Doom: The Dark Ages
A potential, albeit speculative, inclusion. Given the success of previous Doom titles on Switch and Microsoft's cross-platform strategy, this new entry could find its way onto the Switch 2.
The Haunted Chocolatier
Following Stardew Valley's success, this spiritual successor from ConcernedApe is a strong contender. While a launch-day release might be ambitious, a launch-year window is more realistic.
Earthblade
A sequel to the acclaimed Celeste, Earthblade from Extremely OK Games is another potential launch title. Its 2025 release window aligns with the Switch 2's launch.
