The Witcher Saga Continues: Ciri Takes Center Stage in Witcher 4

Nearly a decade after the critically acclaimed Witcher 3 captivated gamers, CD Projekt Red has unveiled the first trailer for The Witcher 4, shifting the spotlight to Ciri, Geralt's adopted daughter. With Geralt's trilogy concluded, the younger generation steps into the limelight. The teaser showcases Ciri intervening in a village gripped by a superstitious ritual, highlighting her bravery and hinting at a complex narrative.

While a release date remains elusive, considering the development timelines of Witcher 3 (3.5-4 years) and Cyberpunk 2077, a 3-4 year wait for Witcher 4 seems plausible, given the early stage of production.

Platform exclusivity is yet to be confirmed. However, given the anticipated timeframe, a current-generation console focus (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC) is likely. A Switch release, while successful for Witcher 3, appears less probable, though a potential Switch 2 port remains a possibility.

Although gameplay details are scarce, the CGI trailer offers glimpses of familiar elements: potions, combat maneuvers, and magical Signs. A notable addition seems to be Ciri's chain, used for both combat and magic.

Voice actor Doug Cockle confirmed Geralt's involvement, albeit a supporting role, suggesting a mentorship dynamic for the seasoned Witcher.
