Rescuing Sam During “Reckoning”

Simply storming the camp won't suffice; you'll need to employ either stealth or force to infiltrate it.

To move freely within the camp without raising alarms, you'll need a guard's outfit. You can obtain this by either eliminating a guard and taking his attire, ensuring to hide the body afterward, or by scavenging the numerous chests scattered around the camp. Once you've donned the guard's outfit, you can explore the camp in search of Sam without drawing suspicion.

Sam is located in the barn on the left side of the camp, just beyond the open area with a cooking fire. Access the barn by using the ladder on its side and drop down inside to confront Brabant. When to Rescue Sam

Sam can wait a bit longer without issue, and handling tasks in this sequence makes everything smoother, especially since you'll need to carry him to the horse.

Von Aulitz is found in the main part of the camp. With your guard's outfit, the guards at his door will allow you entry without question. Upon finding von Aulitz, who is already on the brink of death, he requests a dignified end. Granting him this honorable death is the most virtuous option. Alternatively, you can choose to kill him cruelly or leave him to die slowly. Interestingly, letting him die naturally contributes to the best ending.

The final steps involve retrieving Sam and securing a horse. Sam remains in the barn where you left him. If questioned by a guard about moving him, simply state that you're handling the body, which will dispel any suspicion. Proceed to the camp gates, exit, and turn right to circumvent the camp's perimeter.
