Fake Elden Ring Nightreign test invites circulated

Bandai Namco has started sending out confirmation emails for selected participants in the Elden Ring Nightreign closed beta test running from February 14-17, 2025. Lucky recipients will gain early access to the game's three-player cooperative mode.

With Nightreign's overwhelming demand, fraudsters are circulating counterfeit beta invitations. Multiple players have reported receiving professionally crafted emails mimicking official Bandai Namco communications, complete with deceptive links to Steam lookalike sites.

These phishing attempts prompt users to log in, resulting in immediate account compromise. Some victims received these fraudulent messages from hacked friends' accounts. A few impacted players successfully recovered their accounts through Steam Support.

Always verify links carefully through official channels. When uncertain, avoid clicking suspicious links and consult verified sources directly.

Elden Ring: Nightreign will remove the messaging feature present in previous FromSoftware titles. Director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision stems from the game's condensed 40-minute sessions, leaving insufficient time for writing or reviewing player messages.

The messaging system was removed because the typical 40-minute gameplay window makes sending and reading messages impractical during sessions.
