SoMoGa Drops A Revamped Version Of 16-Bit Classic JRPG Vay On Android

SoMoGa Inc. has released a revitalized version of Vay for Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG returns with enhanced graphics, a modernized interface, and controller support.

Originally launched in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized by Working Designs), Vay received an iOS re-release by SoMoGa in 2008. This latest iteration builds upon that legacy.

What's New in the Revamped Vay?

The updated Vay features over 100 enemies, a dozen challenging bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A notable addition is the adjustable difficulty settings, catering to various player preferences.

Convenience is improved with an auto-save function and Bluetooth controller support for flexible gameplay. Players can acquire new equipment and items, unlock spells through character leveling, and utilize an AI system for autonomous character combat.

The Story:

Set in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war, the narrative unfolds on the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay. A colossal, malfunctioning war machine crashes onto the planet, causing widespread destruction.

Players assume the role of a protagonist embarking on a quest to rescue their abducted wife and potentially save the world. The peaceful wedding day is disrupted by an attack, leading to an epic journey to confront the destructive war machines.

Vay's compelling narrative blends classic JRPG elements with modern enhancements. Character progression through experience points and gold earned in random encounters remains central to the gameplay. The game includes nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes with English and Japanese audio options.

Download the premium version of the revamped Vay from the Google Play Store for $5.99. For more gaming news, check out our other articles.
