Geralt of Rivia Returns in Animated "Witcher" Spin-off: "Sirens of the Deep"
The voice of Geralt from the acclaimed Witcher video games, Doug Cockle, reprises his iconic role in Netflix's latest animated offering, Sirens of the Deep. This spin-off movie, set during Season 1 of the Netflix live-action series, delves into a new adventure on the Continent.
IGN critic Jarrod Jones notes that while the pairing of Cockle's Geralt and Joey Batey's Jaskier holds appeal, its broader attraction might be limited to dedicated Witcher fans. Nevertheless, it may serve as a satisfying interim experience until the release of The Witcher 4.

Plot Summary of Sirens of the Deep

Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's short story "A Little Sacrifice," Sirens of the Deep bridges episodes 5 and 6 of the Netflix series. Geralt investigates attacks in a coastal village, uncovering an ancient conflict between humans and sea people that threatens to ignite a war. With the help of allies, he must resolve the mystery before hostilities escalate.
The Broader Witcher Universe
The Witcher saga began with Sapkowski's book series, inspiring the critically acclaimed video game series from CD Projekt Red, especially The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The games have spawned numerous spin-offs and collaborations, including a real-world version of the Gwent card game. The Witcher 4, featuring a new protagonist, was announced at the 2024 Game Awards. Netflix's live-action series, currently airing its third season with Henry Cavill, will continue with Liam Hemsworth as Geralt in Season 4.
