Unlike many modern game releases, there's only one edition of the Suikoden remaster available, so if you're eager to play, be sure to secure your copy today.
Digital preorders and the Day One physical edition of the game come bundled with a set of in-game digital items. These bonuses include:
Potch is the in-game currency used in Suikoden. The Fortune Orb doubles the experience points gained by the character carrying it, while the Prosperity Orb doubles the currency earned from battles. However, there's a catch: the main character from the first Suikoden cannot carry both orbs simultaneously. It's good to know these details before you start playing.
Originally released in Japan on the PlayStation in 1995 and 1998 respectively, Suikoden I and II quickly followed in the West a year later. These games are renowned for their unique gameplay mechanic of recruiting 108 warriors to join your cause and battle against evil forces.
The HD remaster maintains the charm of the original pixelated graphics while adapting them to fill modern widescreen displays. The remaster also features updated spell effects for smoother visuals and newly drawn high-definition character portraits.
Beyond the visual enhancements, the remaster introduces several quality-of-life improvements. Players can now speed up battles or opt for an auto-battle mode. Additional features include auto-save functionality and a conversation log to prevent missing important dialogue. The user interface has also been revamped to make tasks such as changing equipment more user-friendly.
