This aligns with speculation sparked by the Switch 2 reveal trailer, which briefly depicted a Joy-Con being swiped across a surface, hinting at its potential use as a mouse. The patent largely confirms these earlier suspicions, offering a rare glimpse into Nintendo's plans for the upcoming console, given their previous silence on Switch 2 details.

Switch 2 Joy-Con: Mouse Functionality and New Controller Designs
