UPDATE (1/19/25) - TikTok has resumed operations in the U.S. after a brief service interruption.

In a statement on X/Twitter, TikTok confirmed the restoration, attributing it to collaboration with service providers and assurances from President Trump. The statement emphasized the importance of avoiding penalties for providing service to over 170 million American users and supporting over 7 million small businesses. TikTok also lauded the decision as upholding First Amendment rights and opposing arbitrary censorship, expressing a commitment to working with President Trump on a lasting solution to maintain its presence in the United States.
