The narrative of World of Warcraft: The War Within continues. Beyond the Siren Isle update, Season 2 is anticipated in late 2025, introducing new endgame content and the expansion's next chapter. However, Patch 11.0.7 includes several story quests setting the stage for Patch 11.1, focusing on the Goblin capital, Undermine. A separate questline concludes the tragic destruction of Dalaran, though it wasn't immediately available upon patch launch.
Updated January 7, 2025 by Paul Woodward: The recent campaign quests feel like a definitive ending. Dalaran, a Warcraft staple for years, may never recover from The War Within's events. The Dalaran Epilogue questline provides closure, bidding farewell to this significant social hub in Wrath of the Lich King and Legion.
Spoilers ahead, read with caution.
Unlike the Dalaran Epilogue, the Lingering Shadows campaign starts immediately. Completion of the leveling or Level 80 campaigns isn't required. For optimal understanding, catch up on prior story elements to avoid spoilers and contextualize character interactions. The Lingering Shadows campaign includes:
After "Found Friends," speak to Orweyna. Her quest, while not part of the main campaign, offers insights into potential future plot points for The War Within or subsequent World Soul Saga expansions.
Initially, a three-week delay existed for the Dalaran Epilogue. As of January 7th, this waiting period is removed. However, unlocking this campaign requires completing both The War Within's leveling campaign and the Level 80 campaign (unlocked by reaching Renown Four with all four Khaz Algar factions).
If unsure about meeting these requirements, visit Foundation Hall (the prologue quest starting point for Patch 11.1). If Khadgar is present after January 7th, you can receive a quest from him. His absence indicates unfinished campaign quests. The Dalaran Epilogue quest list is below.
Completing this campaign unlocks the Fate of the Kirin Tor achievement and the "Witness of the Kirin Tor" title.
