Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo delivers another exciting title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the musou genre. This new roguelite, featuring familiar faces from the Warriors series, is available now.
Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to build a squad of iconic characters and battle relentless waves of enemies. The isometric perspective evokes the feel of Diablo and the acclaimed roguelite, Hades.
Gameplay footage revealed a team-based combat system against demonic forces from "hell." The trailer showcased a diverse roster including Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang.
According to the PlayStation Blog, characters can be recruited and added to your team, providing additional summoning abilities. Players can field up to seven heroes simultaneously, with a launch roster of 100 warriors.
Koei Tecmo promises post-launch character additions, beginning with warriors from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. Further expansions are planned, with the intriguing possibility of characters from outside the Warriors franchise joining the fray.
Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. Players seeking the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should purchase the game before March 14, 2025.
